For some reason Arbok was always my favourite Pokémon.

My internet, landline phone and able TV went out yesterday. We were out until early this afternoon. Turns out yesterday when the guy who was setting up our replacement water heater (which had died earlier in the week) had unplugged the amplifer for the router in the basement and didn't plug it back in.
I am enraged because I went through so much trouble to get a hold of comcast to get someone to come out today just for it to be someone so stupidly mundane!

The same thing just happened with my tv. After all the effort it turned out to be a extremely simple problem.

That sounds so unnecessary and tragic o.o

Yes it is, also our fridge is dying. At least I'm going on a short vacation in 2 days

What kind of festivals?

Any kind~ there's a pirate festival thats coming up in a couple of days. Last time I went they had professional mermaids and random people dressing as pirates

I don't think I've ever been to any of that sort. Closest I can think of is the pow wow I went to last year. I intend to go again this year but with at least one of my friends.

Yeah, I don't go to a lot of festivals. I've gone to a couple of conventions though.

I've only ever been to 2 conventions; Anime Boston and Another Anime Convention. I haven't gone to ACC since 2012 and I didn't go to AB this year due to funds.

Going to a convention is really expensive. It takes a whole lot of effort to get there too. Overall just a lot of effort.

Yeah, I'm fairly lucky with the Anime Boston con since its really close to me. Only a 15 minute walk to the train station, then 45 minutes on the train itself going into Boston and maybe 20-ish minutes getting to the Hynes via the subway if you know where you're going.

That is really convenient. There isn't such a network of public transport over here so it's much more of a hassle to get anywhere.

convienent yes but pricey. If I don't get a hotel near the con (which is arguably more expensive) then the fare for getting back and forth between Boston and Wilmington (aka where I live) comes to about $90 to $100. Another downside is I can't stay longer than a certain time frame on the first two days (which is the bulk of the con) meaning I'm missing out on certain panels and activities that are only on in the late night (usually the 18+ stuff) because I have to be back at North Station to catch the last or second to last train home. Reverse is the same for the mornings however, the train runs pretty early but its annoying on Saturday and Sunday because the trains don't come as often. One time when me and a friend were just arriving at the station, the train was early and left so we had to wander around town to find something to do for 2 hours to get the next train.

I'm just taking a break from these conventions for now. I'll wait until I've got the funds and the time to do it right. I have to travel into the heart of the city usually, which is an ordeal in itself, lol.

Same, plus the last few years for me at conventions has either been boring or drama filled or both.

Mine was just boring-no drama unfortunately.

I went to one of those and was bored.
