Blarg-what now?

I'm not quite sure where to put this, so I'll just leave it here.

Blargaria eh? I was talking to the usual suspect about the Forums and stuff and I came to the realisation that Blargaria doesn't sit well in everyday conversation. so two things in this thread:-

1. Why is it Named Blargaria? any reason in particular?

2. Can any of think of a cool abbreviation the site?

Mine is an uninspired "Blarg" (not a fan of it so thats why I made the thread).

My guess is that it's a merge of Blarg and Bulgaria, though I have no idea why you'd do that.

I don't really have an answer for it, Bryan pretty much just came up with it and we just rolled with it.

Myself I've been calling BG, but Blarg works too!

But yeah, Manga hit it on the head but I wasn't thinking of Bulgaria at the time.

I just noticed that "aria" was used for nation names.

Blargaria was a joke nation name I came up with in High School with a friend of mine. I dunno why I came up with it exactly; or what led me to creating it. Its just been an old joke name for a nation. Nothing more.
I THINK the original spelling of it was "Blargharia" but after repeated misspellings of forgetng the "h" I decided on "Blargaria" instead.

When we were trying to come up with a suitable name for our forum we weren't having any good ideas that weren't already taken. Examples being:
Nerd Nexus
Geek Nexus
Otaku Haven
and other various ones. (maybe I'll look for it in the skype logs and paste it under spoiler later for anyone who wishes to read it)
But eventually me and Key sat down and decided to go with Blargaria since it sounded half-way more original than all the other names. Didn't make much sense to use it but hey; its working well with the abbreviation of BG.

I'm frankly surprised no one really has much of a problem with the name. lol
