Maybe it was something his fans wanted? I know it s a lame excuse, I mean other than that the publishing company could of asked to do it that way to give it at the end an extra boost in popularity.

Oh I know its plausible, even the mangaka said many times before in interviews he was against the incest aspect that the story could end with. And yet it ended that way, which made me think it was either fans or just the publishers going for one last push for popularity/sales.
