Taking a stab at doing Let's Plays

Okay I've mentioned this a bit before on another thread and on the skype group but I've been debating on actually doing it. I decided to at LEAST give this thing a shot on design and testing out the video quality and audio quality.
Now my setup is pretty much standard stuff. My recording device is rather old (about 7 years old) but it still works. I used to use it for my GMVs. I CAN NOT do any HD quality videos not unless I'm tackling a PC game. I am able to integrate my web cam into the video as well. I suspect that people like Markiplier use two separate recording software to do his videos. One for his webcam and the other for the video itself. I've been able to integrate both into one program.
Only downside is audio quality. The device with the software is rather iffy. The audio won't work for crap no matter what I do. So I am forced to have one of my TVs that are closest to the laptop/webcam/microphone to supply the sound.

the quality of the audio is nothing special but after a lot of struggling for like 2 hours I got the audio to not have this weird echo sound.

I am mostly doing this for fun; not to get famous or make money off of it. I also hope to do theories like Quaaman Land, Votexxygaming and Game Theory.
I intend to start up a brand new channel but... I don't have a good name in mind for myself.
I was thinking "The Overthinker" considering the theory side of the channel. I intend to cover not just video games but anime/manga and other things such as Star Trek and Back to the Future as well.

Maybe you guys can give me some tips before I try at this endevor. (one thing; I don't play new games anymore unless it really interests me and I can get my actual hands on it)
(also I don't have any recording devices for the 3DS or mobile phone. I can emulate a lot of other mobile systems like gameboy and PSP)

Well I've started on my Let's Play channel. My first 2 games I'm trying are Doom 3 (modded) and Mystical Ninja starring Goemon for the N64 which has yet to be uploaded. I might upload it tomorrow after I get a couple more recordings done tonight.

I apologize for the bad microphone quality. I'm gonna buy a better one in like a week when I have the money.

I think it'll be much more enjoyable with better sound quality, as you're planning, and to get into the groove will take some time as well, I guess, as it does with everyone who starts doing Let's Play's.

thank you my friend. I admit that while I'm NOT working on getting myself situated with doing my LPs I'm watching other people's Let's Plays. I've been mostly watching Markiplier (who I took the whole webcam idea from) Super Beard Brothers (I'm a fan of The Completionist) Thundershot69 (he and the next guy mostly do DBZ related videos that aren't let's plays but I occasionally wach their stuff) Quaaman Land (I admit he's a big inspiration for me and he's sorta my how to guide on how I want my channel) and right now MasaeAnela whom I found thanks to Facebook. I'm watching her first let's play of OoT (I intend to watch her LPs of MM and OoT3D) I admit she's also a bit of a guide for me since I know she had a hard time starting out (with the whole being a quiet person)

I HOPE to one day get a new recording device so I can record consoles in HD since I am right now bound to the old composite (yellow, red and white) cords.

I've had this for years (since high school) when I did GMVs. Still works thankfully.
Maybe MAYBE (and this is a big maybe) get a device to record my 3DS/DS since it is currently the only "console" I can not record (PSP and other handhelds I have emulators of)

I'm already working on a mental list of games that in total should take me roughly a year to do them all.
