Star Wars, anyone?
I don't see anything about it posted here yet, so...I figured I'd go ahead and start something.
I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I even do costuming, and a recent investment was a very expensive lightsaber prop that can be used for sparring and choreography.
I'm also a part of a nonprofit organization that is officially acknowledged by LucasFilm, known as TDA (The Dark Alliance. Look us up if you are interested). I'm a design team member there, former Membership Officer.

Anywho, I love Star Wars. I grew up with it alongside my favorite childhood anime. I'm looking forward to the new movies being released over the next few years, and I've studied the "EU" for a long time now.

Re: Star Wars, anyone?
There we go! I got somebody, haha.
Yes, I'm extremely excited for the release of The Force Awakens (Episode 7), as well as Rouge One coming next year.
I'm currently reworking my TDA designated costume that I'll be wearing on the release of Episode 7. It'll be great.
I was really skeptical of TFA at first, but I'm looking more and more forward to it as the release date approaches. I'm generally open minded about my fandom, so the hype is intense.

I have high hopes for this film, as they said that they were going to try and go back to the roots of when it was created by having some practical effects and such (which I love!). I'm a little hesitant about where the plot will go, and what's going to happen, but... I'm going to keep my hopes high and be optimistic
Dat Chewie not aging though... lucky :p

I think the plot will be fine.
The only issue with it are butthurt nostalgia critics who are overly attached to their precious "EU". Which still exists, by the way, it's just not canon. It can still be enjoyed all the same, though. It's not like they are banned from experiencing that material.

I think it'll be fine as well, but... I'm hesitant, just because of the unknown, and I pride myself on not looking into things and not trying to figure them out from bits and pieces and imagine what could/should/would happen... some people I know are doing that, and I'm like "Lalallalallala stooopp!! Can't hear you!!!!" because I like to go in fresh.
I'm more concerned about what the influence of (more) modernized society will have on it.
...Han Solo sending a tweet? You never know o.o

Re: Star Wars, anyone?
Thanks for posting the video. I dunno why I never bothered to look it up because I like to remain surprised.
JJ did a pretty good job with the Trek reboot and judging from this trailer the Wars movie might be good too.
I'm still more of Trek fan over Wars, but I still love me some Star Wars every once in a while. Especially with episodes 4-6. (1 and 2 I didn't like and had a hard time following the plot)
I don't think I'll see this exactly when it comes out. Judging from the release month I'll probably see it in January around my birthday. (that'd be an awesome 25th birthday present; seeing the next Wars movie in theaters)
The narrator of the video didn't sound like Mark Hamill though. Then again I haven't watched or played anything with him voicing anything that's been fairly recent. Last thing I played that had his voice was Arkham Asylum. Before that Castle in the Sky which are his more villain roles; not hero roles like Luke.
But hey; its another live-action Wars movie so I'm gonna see it and cross my fingers Disney didn't butcher the series.
I've heard of Wars fans already screaming at the little changes like the Stormtrooper helmet design (which I like acually) similar to how Trek fans were screaming at the first reboot movie. Some people just always need a reason to complain.
But I remember a few years ago hearing they were gonna make a BTTF reboot series but have *shudders* Justin Beiber as Marty. Thank god whomever had that idea bailed when they heard the public out-cry.

You're welcome
Yeah, the Star Trek reboot was great. Even better seeing it in the theaters, with some good friends
I didn't mind Episode 1-3, myself, although everyone generally hates them.
I liked the pod racing, and the video game that followed. A lot. That game was boss :l
Don't like Jar-Jar Binks anymore though... I did as a kid, because, well, I like weird things.
If Beiber even DAARESSS touch Back to the Future... that's it.
My universe will implode o.o

Re: Star Wars, anyone?
I spent a majority of the previous weekend before last week watching Celebration 7 in Anaheim during their live feeds.
It was a spectacular event. Especially with all of the new material coming out that they were showcasing.
But yeah, the fanbase for Star Wars is pretty divided now. You have a lot of people that are open minded and just waiting to enjoy the new content. On the other hand, just the same amount are bitching about small things or things they want to try to blame Disney on (even though nobody seems to understand that Disney is only providing a foundation for LFL, and LFL is making all of the Star Wars decisions on their own).
I tend to just generally enjoy Star Wars. There are things I'm not too crazy about (like the "new" crossguard lightsaber, which I don't like and think is gaudy), but I'm willing to give things a chance as they come along.
I'm especially looking forward to TFA, Rouge One, and the new Battlefront game.
