I didn't mean so old. I just meant about my age. Hopefully that's not too old

No I think Tashina has a good reason. She's in college. I don't think anyone would miss that XD
As for Jordan and Hyera: yeah. You are going to miss it at our age. I wish sometimes I could go back to High School XD
@Jester: let's face it though. to these youngsters we're old as the hills. 24 is the new 30. (30 is death. Everything past that is walking corpse)

Hahaha. Indeed, we're 8-9 years older than some of the youngsters. That is a lot if one is still young. It still feels like yesterday when I was 16. Time flies.

Saaaaaame. It feels like yesterday when I was sitting around in math class in senior year joking around with my buddy Joey. Me calling him a Mexican and him calling me a racist bastard (no; seriously; we were legit joking) since we often had nothing to do in math class. (6 years ago)
Or holy crap I can remember some of Middle School. Like that time I nearly punched a kid's light's out since he kept picking on me every day. (10 years ago)
We are getting old! (but so are they)

Beautiful Star Trek clip. I can remember watching Star Trek Next Generation when it was on tv. The series may get some hate but it's still an entertaining series in my opinion. The march of time is inevitable, yes. The way one reacts to it will define how people will view your legacy ultimately, like illustrated in the clip

It got hate? Wow. Every Star Trek fan I've ever met has all mutally enjoyed Next Generations.
If you're referring to the Trek series as a whole its mostly from the Star Wars only fans who think Wars is perfect. (seriously; some people think that) and Trek was ripping off Wars (yes I know one who thinks that)
I think I should stop myself there before I start saying the same thing that I did in a much older thread so I'll just paste it here:
- Old post of mine:
- Bryan Dacote wrote:boundbyluck wrote:Star trek is for nerds ... star wars is for the cool ppl :p
Please let's not get started on that age old arguement. Its stupid as shit.
Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas were friends, respected and were fans of each other's work and I think even exchanged ideas after Star Wars took off. Here's a pic of them SHAKING HANDS at a Star Wars con where Roddenberry was the star guest:
I saw a show that was in regards to Gene Roddenberry's death and on the show was his son and George Lucas talking remembering the late Trek creator. Roddenberry's son gave Lucas one of the few remaining original phasers used on the show in the 60's. There's a lot of respect between those two and I think the "Star Trek VS Star Wars" debate is stupid.
They both have their pluses and down sides. I lean more on Trek since I have more fond memories of it and it was something I had in common with my late father and other members of my family. I am a Star Wars fan too though; but like many I prefer the original trilogy over the one from the 2000's. I just prefer Trek.
As for Leonard Nimoy's death:
According to this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/arts/television/leonard-nimoy-spock-of-star-trek-dies-at-83.html?_r=0
it was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease from his years of smoking.
Re: Last one to post here wins!
Oh the clip was from the 7th movie: Star Trek Generations
so confusing it had a similar name to TNG. UGG. Probably one of the reasons that movie was not generally liked.

Oh, thanks for the information. There was a similar rivalry between the writers C.S. Lewis (creator of Narnia) and J.R.R. Tolkien (of of of the Rings fame). They were good friends and respected each other's work though some people liked to compare them. J.R.R. Tolkien thought the Narnia series was too simplistic though he still respected what C.S. Lewis accomplished.

Not surprised. I guess like anything else fans just want to rage debate over what is better when it all comes down to personal taste.
But I think this picture says it all:
