Yeah, I would definitely like to see games with WWI as backdrop. There is so much that can still be explored.

Most war back drops focus on WW2 due to (in my opinion) the whole Holocaust and that WW2 made a huge impact on the world. The nuclear bomb was first used, the very first computer was made, the largest successful invasion in history, ect.

And no I didn't know that but honestly I don't care since I never watched those animes.

Yes, there were a lot of developments and events that occurred during World War II. It is also easier to identify one side as"evil" in WWII than in WWI. In World War I it was mostly imperial monarchies that were fighting among themselves (with the exception of the USA). No one side actually had the moral high ground.

The fact that a studio like Manglobe can go bankrupt just shows the fragility of the anime industry.

That is true too. People love to show how "black and white" the world is when in reality its very very grey.

Meh that doesn't really surprise me since its easy for any studio or company to go under. Its more shocking when one can last for a long time like id software which develops games like Doom, Quake and Rage.

I guess that's true. Some companies just keep going on. Even id Software was finally bought by Bethesda Softworks. Now it's a subsidiary of that company. Business is always on the move.

yeah, I mean I love RAGE and it definitely screams "id software" in the way the game was designed and the gameplay is done but you can tell with how bad all the graphic glitches, the sudden and lack-luster ending and the compatibility issues due to the rushed release was definitely the fault of Bethesda/Zenimax.
(technically its Zenimax that owns id software and Bethesda, not Bethesda owning id software. Its a big misconception)

Honestly the only thing that still ticks me off about RAGE (and Doom 3 BFG Edition) despite it being one of my favorite games: the fact when you boot up the game - no matter which port it is; whether its the PC, PS3 or 360 version - the Bethesda logo comes up BEFORE the id software logo. Jebus; its an id software IP not a Bethesda IP.

Actually Bethesda fucking slapped PC users in the face with Doom 3 BFG Edition. The best thing about the original Doom 3 was its ability to be modded rather easily by fans (making maps is still very hard but lots of people can do it). My LP of Doom 3 over on youtube shows the game modded - if however a simple one in comparison to others. Still you can't even do that in the BFG edition :/

Yeah, Zenimax Media is the official parent company. Zenimax was founded by Bethesda Softworks so that's probably why some switch between the two. You are probably looking forward to the Doom reboot in 2016. The game has taken long enough with it being first announced back in 2008.

Yeah, they changed the name to simply "Doom". Would probably be a little confusing to newcomers. The end of 2015 and 2016 is going to be one hell of a period for games though. Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, Doom, Halo 5, Star Wars Battlefront. Those are just some I can think of .
