Con or home cosplayer?

Post by MonjaElisa on Wed Apr 15, 2015 11:07 pm

So do you guys dressup and act as your fave characters on conventions, or do you guys do it just for fun to be alike one of the characters you like in private//at home or around friends?... is the reason you cosplay because you want to, or to be viewed as a better gamer//otaku among the public?

Personally I dont go to cons... not by now anyways.... I cosplay in private, add a few photos every now and then.. but I just love dressing up as my favorite characters.... its a special feeling... <3

Its both for me but at home I feel more self conscious of it where at cons and Halloween I feel more accepted for it.

I live alone, so it'd be kind of pointless to do it at home...

I haven't cosplayed myself, before, but I've dressed up in stupid costumes, randomly, and walked around the house.

...I scared my mum once in a Jewish Rabbi costume, and took out the garbage dressed like a Banana :l

..I'm serious...! xD haha
But I wouldn't be opposed to cosplaying at some point either. it looks like fun, and I know I'd enjoy it Smile

Nowadays, strictly conventions. I used to cosplay at my local mall.

I mostly just work on costumes in my free time. I have only recently been going to conventions, and that's mostly due to the fact that beforehand I never had money to afford going to conventions.

Right now, a majority of my costuming dedication goes into my costumes that get officially designated by TDA, the Star Wars organization that I am a part of. However, I've done a variety of Nintendo character cosplays, and now that things are more accessible for me I plan to do some of my favorite anime characters. I'm hoping to attend some more conventions between now and the end of this year, and more overall starting next year.
