Amiibos...
What do you guys think of Amibos? I liked the idea at first, and was ready to pay for complete Fire Emblem set, but those things are so damn overpriced now, it's not even funny. I only managed to get me an Ike Amiibo, cause I wanted to use them in Project Steam but...

Re: Amiibos...
I think amiibo is a good idea. They should really work on their production though so that they're available for everyone. At least Marth is getting a reprint.

Re: Amiibos...
He's still more than twice the price he's supposed to be though.
Amibos aren't THAT detailed, they really aren't worth more than 10$

Yeah....as much as I want them, I feel they are overpriced. I don't think I'll be investing in them unless they either bump up the detail in them or knock down the price.
I probably wouldn't be using them for any of the games I own either.

Re: Amiibos...
I'm quasy certain Fire Emblem if will give you some kind of Amiibo compatibility, which is why I REALLY wanted the whole Fire Emblem set but now...
Oh well, the game itself will be largely enough to satisfy me, plus with so many great games on the horizon, I won't really have time to miss it lol/

Re: Amiibos...
It's because they have limited runs that they have such inflated prices -.-
I've bought some of my anime figures for <10$, and those are very detailed, depending.
I do like the idea, though.
I like collecting things o.o
...no hoarder, though.

Re: Amiibos...
I mean yes, the idea per se is great and all, but Nintendo is handling it super poorly. They KNOW people are ready to but them, but instead of making more for everyone, the allow a few to take advantage of the situation and basically piss the hell out of everyone.

Re: Amiibos...
Look at this, and tell me it's not crazy:
Keep in mind, that those are pounds, so in dollars its 1088$!!!

Re: Amiibos...
Amiibos are definitely interesting a nice addition to collecting figures, however due to the exclusives and low stocks for the figures, they get bought out quickly.
Thus leading to a huge price markup online, especially for the lesser known figures that certain fans love.
Nintendo may have did that intentionally as well although that's just a guess, but it does drive up the demand by first producing low stock then driving up the demand for collectors when you cant get certain ones leading to Nintendo creating more that are guaranteed to sell and then releasing newer ones to only keep the furnace going,
All in all When a amiibo breaks the point of 100 like gold Mario at times at the price of actual gold so to speak then it becomes rather a pit for finances.
I mean besides that there are the defective ones which go for insane amounts of money, like legless peach and two canon samus reaching 5 digits.
If they would release far more stocks of them then I may be more inclined to collect them
I would much rather go for figuarts and stuff like that along with more bigger statues and whatnot from first4figures and collector editions.
Along with just printing them out myself with a 3d printer or doing papercraft and creating something of this quality.
