Phobias and Fears?
As humans, we are naturally fearful of many things. Instinctual foundations in our very development lead to a variety of psychological cues that effect us later in life.
What I'm getting at is, how many of you here have some sort of fear? What is your fear? Do you have a phobia of some sort?
---
I have acrophobia. Mine stems from an experience I had in childhood. I do things to get over it, but I usually have issues to where I cannot function correctly at specific heights. My limit is usually two or three stories. But as long as I do not look down, I can power through it.
I used to "rock climb" at the local mall (they had one of those attractions set up) to expand my tolerance of heights, but since they took that down I haven't been able to train myself out of my fear like I used to. It was a pain in the ass getting me on a commercial flight a few years ago, haha.
But I deal with it. I think that soon enough, I'll be able to overcome my fear of heights.

Re: Phobias and Fears?
I've asked myself this question for a long time now. What exactly am I afraid of?
Frankly I have no clue. Maybe it's because I have come face to face with it yes, but I haven't gotten scared of physical things yet. I guess you could say I'm scared of dying too soon, or I was scared my mom would catch me doing something bad... but that's just common place, so i really don't know.

I used to have a horrid fear of dolls. My mum has a whole bunch of them. But, the best way to overcome is, as Takumi was getting at, conditioning it out of you! I now own a ventriloquist dummy and have no issues with them, and even find their creepiness appealing now
...also, afraid of getting emotionally hurt by someone again, if that counts? xF

I used to be afraid of goats due to being attacked by one as a child. But one day I realized how stupid that sounds and got over it and plus I haven't seen a live goat since I was 12.
I have a slight fear of Lobsters (yes; its a weird fear for someone who lives their entire life in MA; the coastal state) due to incident where one scared the shit out of me when I was little. I remember someone was over my house for a few days and they bought a lobster. But it turned out it wasn't dead yet. it somehow ended up on the floor of the kitchen. With the low lighting and it crawling around at me (and face it; lobsters are creepy looking) it scared me when I was only about 6. I don't like sea food period so I don't like the taste of lobster. And actually looking at one irl sends chills up and down my spine.
I don't care for heights but it depends on the situation. I can handle being up somewhere high provided I have a reasonable means of insurance I'll be safe. (plus Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge help get over that fear)
I can't handle being up on a tall ladder that has no means of a secure stablity scares me. Being on a mountain doesn't faze me. Near a sheer drop with no rail or fence does make me really nervous so I make sure to either stay away or approach slowly and carefully.
Being in the dark doesn't really faze me either since I have good vision in the dark. I do PREFER a well lit room but I'm not afraid of the dark at all. Got over that growing up.
Spiders and stuff I don't like at all but not actually afraid of them unless poisonous. If they are; keep them the fuck away. I do have a fear of that.
For "artifical horror"
I don't like horror movies or games but its just out of personal taste. I don't like getting scared or being made to get scared. I can handle jump scares like a pro (blame repeated plays of Doom 3) but atmosphere... I can either handle it or not. Depends on what it is. Zombies, Skeletons, demons and ghosts don't scare me at all. Zombies don't exist. Skeletons and Ghosts irl can't hurt you, and demons well... "if there is evil in this world it lurks in the hearts of men" ~ Tales of Phantasia
Monsters are hit or miss. Depends how realistic they are. (FNAF's anamotronics are creepy because they are based on real tech) and Psychopaths... well I don't need to give examples to prove how real they are.
