Favourite Cartoons

Post by Guest on Fri May 15, 2015 1:23 am

What are your favorite cartoons you grew up with, that aren't anime. Can be anything really.
Tug on that nostalgia cord!

Are are some of mine.

Code Lyoko

Code Lyoko is just a great show altogether. The story already sets it apart, but it also has great characters, and humour. It even gets dark at times and you can really relate and see the characters grow.
Bonus point for the way they mix 2D and 3D animation together.

Galactik Football

Like Code Lyoko, Galactik Football is one of those shows that sets out to be more than just a child's cartoon, at least imo. It's quite comical in the way it handles things too, but the characters and their relationships are what truly shine in this one for me.
And what would you know, they mix 2D and 3D too. Now if only it hadn't been cancelled after a big cliffhanger...

W.I.T.C.H

This one's a little bit of a cheat because it's not really the cartoon that I like, but the comic, though we do the same for anime and manga so whatever.
It's also a little weird, cause it's actually a comic aimed at girls, but I just can't help. IT'S SO F***ING GOOD! All I can say is that it's one of those stories that really tugs at your heart, especially if you're a teenager, when emotions are such a mess lol XD!

Yeah, a lot of the shows aimed at girls were really good and a lot of boys watched them too. Shows like W.I.T.C.H. and Totally Spies. I can remember a lot of the guys at my school watched Totally Spies.

Yeah, Darkwing Duck was awesome! Reminds me of another great show, Gargoyles.

Yes, all those previously mentioned are great. A little less well known but still entertaining was The Mak:Animated Series. The Mask premise works well in an animated series.

I've heard about "The Critic" but never actually watched it. Everyone says it's really good though. What would a list be without "Biker Mice from Mars" Smile
