me Im somewhere in between collector and exaggerated... if I had the funds Id probably be exaggerated.., xD
My collections: animes, dramas, The Legend of Zelda props and apparel.

Games I suppose.
It's fairly basic atm, but I want to build it up over the years and hopefully pass it down to my children for them to enjoy.

Re: Collection, what do you collect and to what amount?
besides lots and lots of dvds of my favorite shows and anime?
there's 4 particular collections I've been growing the past several years.
1. Pocket watches. I currently have 5 different pocket watches. I've been collecting them since I got my first one as a graduation present from my parents.I got my newest one 2 weeks ago at Anime Boston. I'll show pics of my watches later on; maybe tomorrow. (and yes I have a FMA watch)
2. Models and figurines. I have various models of ships from Star Trek, a ship in the bottle, a few figurines or key-chain things of my favorite characters. I don't buy very expensive stuff. I think the most I've spent on one is like $40 or $45 on my Enterprise models. I will provide pictures later.
3. Posters. If you've seen pics of me on MO or talked to me on Skype video calls you'll know my walls are covered in posters! From anime to games to movies to favorite shows to even my favorite animal: the wolf!
4. Video game consoles and handhelds. I don't got the biggest collection but it IS impressive:
NES, N64, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, GBC, Sega Gamegear, Atari 2600 (in its original box bitches!), GBA, DS and 3DS!

Re: Collection, what do you collect and to what amount?
I have been collecting a lot more lately myself, for the past few years.
For me though its mainly videogame and certain media related content.
Figures and statues are definitely up there but even more so rebuilding my retro collection back up.
Honestly a few things that I would love to have specifically though are,
Black Hole Pinball Machine,
Evangelion 6 Pachinko Machine
The original mint condition Magnavox truly first game console albeit the most basic thing ever.
A certain elusive metal sonic statue exclusive from first4figures that is quite brilliant.
I would really love to have a very rare link statue released as a promotion to a certain game Zelda game if anybody can figure out which based on that they win some points.
A pokemon snap arcade machine.
Along with a extremely rare klonoa plush.
Speaking of which first4figures is where I mainly get my bigger figures from, that and gaming heads sometimes.

Re: Collection, what do you collect and to what amount?
I may need to reshuffle some things around a bit... a tad messy >.<
Just ignore the erroneous items in the way of things.
Also, some of my swords aren't present in the pictures
(They're hiding in the corner behind my fish tank and manga/games)
(And, yes, my fish tank needs a good cleaning, but... I'm waiting for these fish to die. They're waaay overdue their lifespan, and sickly now, so, it's about time :/ )
^not present: Boys of Silence + Skyhook replica.
Also, now that my thumb is good enough, I can finally finish my "Return to Sender" vigor, as presented in the picture, as the only bland and white thing there :/
^not present: 2 real katanas, 1 wallhanger katana, 1 replica robin hood sword, 1 cane sword (decoration), 1 short sword (wallhanger), 1 synthetic bokken, 1 synthetic gladius, and a whole ton of knives~~!

Re: Collection, what do you collect and to what amount?
This is going to sound sad, but I collect Lightsabers.
And I'm not talking about those rutty Hasbro toys you can pick up at the local convenience center that cost like, $20.
I'm talking about $500-800 replicas and custom designs that use high powered LEDs and programmed soundboards to emulate fantastically overworked rave sticks.
But seriously, these things are my pride and joys. I currently own two hilts from Ultrasabers (they broke though, do not buy from them....shotty electronics), two hilts from Saberforge, and I'm going to have a company called Vader's Vault build a custom design for me.

...
Those. Are. AWESOME
I don't think it's sad at all; everyone has something they find pleasure in, and collector's are no different.
I think those, like my swords, are pricey, and might even be impractical, but it makes neither their intrinsic value, nor their boss-factor, anything less than awesome

Re: Collection, what do you collect and to what amount?
Oh yeah! I agree. And thank you.
The one that I'll be having Vader's Vault build will be very expensive. I'll have to make a downpayment on it, then a final payment once they finish it, haha.
